At the push of a button the saloon door slides open, allowing access to the stately interior. A New Zealand theme is incorporated in the furnishings with rich timber sourced from Matakana Island in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Hand crafted joinery, Paua inlay, fine leather seating and lush woollen carpeting all combine to create an ambience of comfort and intimacy.

John Hamill:
John was brought up in Rotorua and has 40 years fishing and boating experience.
John was introduced at a young age to fishing and hunting and this passion has led to a career in guiding and charter skippering. John is competent in all facets of fishing, including fly fishing through to game fishing and covers everything from beginners upwards.
Michael de Rijk:
Michael has been involved with boats and seafaring most of his life. His two areas of expertise are skippering and marine engineering. His background in skippering fishing trawlers, charter boats along with experience as a pilot boat and tug opertor makes Michael a great asset to the team. He is an experienced scuba diver and fisherman.
Fishing Guide: Miles Rushmere
Miles has been a dedicated professional salt and freshwater fishing guide in the Bay of Plenty for over 15 years. He enjoys having a fun time fishing and hunting, and meeting people from all over the world. Miles was educated at Kings College and The University of Auckland. He can accompany guests aboard the Ultimate Escape to provide fishing tuition and expertise during fishing and diving charters. He also works as a freelance photojournalist and is the New Zealand flyfishing and hunting correspondent for the ESPN Outdoors website.
